1. Who we are

This website (toewrestling.com) is operated by Toe Wrestling Championship Ltd ("TWC", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15838759, registered office at 33 Wadeson Street, London, England, E2 9DR.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at info@toewrestling.co.uk.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZB910329.

2. The information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • When you apply to compete, through the Compete form: your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, town or city, country, the category you are entering, your experience and competing style, any social media handles you provide, your written answer about why you want to compete, a photo if you upload one, and your responses to our eligibility, health and consent questions.
  • When you sign up to our newsletter or as a fan: your email address (and your name, if you provide it).
  • When you register interest in an event (RSVP), in coaching or one to one sessions, in starting a federation, or in a partnership: your name, email address, and any details or message you choose to send, including your country where relevant.
  • Automatically, when you visit the site: technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site. See the Cookies section below.

3. Health information

As part of competing, we ask you to confirm matters relating to your fitness and health (a health declaration). Information about your health is "special category" data and is treated with extra care. We collect and use it only with your explicit consent, and only to assess your eligibility and safety to take part. You can withdraw this consent, although we may then be unable to accept your entry on safety grounds.

4. How and why we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Receive, assess and manage competitor applications and run the championship and our events. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in organising the sport and its competitions, and, where relevant, taking steps before entering an agreement with you. For health information, our basis is your explicit consent.
  • Contact you about your application, entry, or enquiry. Our basis is our legitimate interests, or your consent.
  • Send you newsletters, event alerts and marketing if you have signed up. Our basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Display selected competitors publicly and feature them in our content. See section 5. Our basis is your consent.
  • Operate, secure and improve the website. Our basis is our legitimate interests.
  • Meet our legal obligations. Our basis is compliance with the law.

We do not make decisions about your application by automated means alone. Applications are reviewed by a person.

5. Public display of competitors

If you are selected to compete, your name, country, category, titles and photo may be shown publicly on this website (including on the competitor roster) and used across our channels and content, including video, social media and material involving our partners. We do this on the basis of the consent you give when you apply. If you withdraw that consent, contact us and we will remove you from public-facing material where we reasonably can.

6. Who we share your information with

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Website hosting and database: provided through Lovable and Supabase.
  • Email delivery: Resend.
  • Website traffic statistics: our hosting platform (Lovable) provides us with aggregate, privacy-friendly traffic figures such as visitor numbers, page views and referrers, which do not identify you individually.

These providers act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes above:

  • Competitor application data: for the current championship season and up to 12 months afterwards, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Newsletter and marketing data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Enquiry data (RSVPs, coaching, federation and partner enquiries): up to 24 months from your last contact with us.

After these periods we securely delete or anonymise your information.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed about how we use your data; access the data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to our processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email info@toewrestling.co.uk. You will not usually have to pay, and we will respond within the time limits the law allows.

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies that are necessary for the site to function. Our hosting platform also gives us aggregate, privacy-friendly traffic statistics (such as visitor numbers and page views) that do not identify you individually and do not rely on advertising or tracking cookies. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first.

11. Marketing

If you sign up, we will send you the updates you asked for. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

12. Children

Our championships are open to entrants aged 18 and over, and the site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If junior competitions are introduced in future, this policy will be updated.

13. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls on our database so that submitted personal data is not publicly readable.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.

15. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK regulator for data protection.
